Roche Bobois

Roche Bobois Philly is happy to announce its participation in «Private School 101», a 30- day installation of all things vogue. «Private School» is an experimental showcase featuring over 40 of Philadelphia’s most up-and-coming artists, chefs, makers, musicians, and brands.
The installation will be open to the public daily, located in the heart of Philly’s Loft district.

Also, this season Raphael Navot, renowned architect and interior designer from the Design Academy Eindhoven, has imagined Nativ Collection for Roche Bobois: these pieces radiate nature, culture, spontaneity and the mastery of form. With Nativ, Navot presents a dialog between geometric and organic shapes; while offering a collection which feels surprisingly familiar.

We are pleased to present this new collection, as well as our Spring – Summer 2019 creations. We invite you to discover these new collections in-store and on our website.

Concurrence and Divergence

New Work by Michael Hurwitz and Mami Kato is a unique pairing of contemporary craft and conceptual art, presenting artwork by the Philadelphia based artist couple together for the first time in exhibition. The show will illustrate the stark differences in their artistic practices while highlighting the fluidity of their overlapping inspirations.
Hurwitz continues his explorations of translucency and structure as a genesis for functional design, and Kato’s enigmatic visions of universal order become ever more focused in concept driven sculpture.

Function Formulate

The exhibition is highlighting the connection between art and tech. The show features early examples of artists working with technology, and explores how contemporary artists and designers use tech tools and computer-aided design in the creative process. Featuring Wendell Castle, Samuel Pawlak, Julian Opie, Peter Pincus, Materialise MGX and more.

Spring 019

For Spring 019, Kevin Finklea presents a series of brilliantly painted wooden objects.
At their core, these works appear as a counteraction to our fast-paced and often
anxiety-ridden contemporary culture. Uniquely, each piece is created with exceptional attention to detail.

DONALD MARTINY

Expanding The Gestural Inde

For Donald Martiny, gesture is a constant point of exploration, with each piece relating to gesture in different ways. Some are composed of a single act, while others are built of a cluster of tight strokes. A devoted attention to mark making, intense color, movement and scale are at the forefront of his work.
