In Greatest Attempts, Velasquez presents painting, sculpture, video, and a new collage series Ornamented Void. His most recent work examines how our unwavering social and economic systems collapse, regroup, and reestablish themselves by creating a new reality.

Pentimenti Gallery is delighted to feature works from our online marketplace “PENTIMENTI WAREHOUSE” in our Gallery 2. Kevin Finklea will present rare-to-market works on paper, Lauren Mabry will exhibit unique earthenware, slips, glaze cylinders and Erik Spehn will feature  a new series of paintings created during the quarantine.

NEW PAINTINGS
Raymond SaáRaymond Saá transforms the process of making his paper collages into sizable, oil-on-canvas paintings, made up of organically shaped canvas cut-outs, which feature beautiful stitching along exposed hemlines, that are often configured into bold narratives of color and form.

ON PATRIOTISM AND OIKOPHOBIA
John Preus

John Preus’s 2-D and objects focus on the relationship between the material and the social, and what the objects that surround us tell us obscure and reveal our histories. His work is created with damaged furniture collected from 50 Chicago public schools that closed in 2013.
